Things to do in Houston County GA: Pumpkin Pickin’
Cooler weather, yards littered with leaves, and the quiet crisp air on a sunny Saturday morning are all excellent indicators that Autumn has arrived. Another good reminder is the Jack-O-Lanterns that are starting to adorn front porches and lawns.
Whether you are looking for pumpkins for Halloween or just want to be festive, here are a few of my favorite locations here in middle Georgia to check out before they sell out!
Our Cotton Pickin’ Christmas Tree Farm, Hawkinsville GA – Don’t be fooled by the name, this place has gourds galore this time of the year! Pick your own pumpkins, let the kids climb the hay mountain, or have a hot drink and relax a little. Why not take the entire family and build a few lasting memories. Located at 120 Cordele Highway, they are open 10:00am to 5:30pm 7-days a week. For more information call at (478) 230-3646.
Lane Southern Orchards, Fort Valley GA – With a corn maze, hay rides, and a neat gift shop, this is the ideal place to spend a few leisurely afternoon hours. With all the things to do and see, don’t forget to go out and pick a couple of pumpkins before you leave! Located at 50 Lane Road, their hours of operation are Wed, Thu, Fri & Sun – 12:00pm-6:00pm and Sat from 9:00am-10:00pm. You can also call them at (478) 825-3362 or (800) 27-PEACH.
