You’re making the decision to remake your smile, or regain the ability to eat comfortably. Why then consider starting your journey at Central Georgia Periodontics & Dental Implants?
Periodontists begin their careers with a three-year training program after they graduate from dental school. The periodontics course in dental school may be as little as six weeks. Periodontics focuses on establishing healthy bone and gum support. If you are going to build a new house or remodel an existing house, wouldn’t you want to sure the foundation was strong and would stand the test of time and use?
A periodontist’s education keys on organizing a road map that brings together all the disciplines of dentistry to give you the result you’re looking for and the means to keep it that way, starting from the gums and bone up.
Another key decision you must make in deciding “where and how to start” is what is the history of the dental practice. Dr. Eyman, who founded the practice, came to Houston County in 1976. His first three years were spent at Robins AFB and he was given permission to begin treating local civilian patients on Saturdays in 1978 because of a critical local need. He left active duty in 1979 as a partner in a Macon practice and opened a practice in Warner Robins in 1982. He was joined in that practice by Dr. Vin Bhasin in 2007. Individually and together they have helped thousands of patients to achieve their dental goals. This includes thousands of successfully placed dental implants. For implants to survive, there must be an adequate body of healthy bone. Insuring this requirement and rebuilding bone (grafting) is a huge part of a periodontal residency program.
Over time our practice has achieved several “firsts.” In the 1980’s we introduced the first Prophy Jet™ to Georgia. Today, almost all practices use them to polish your teeth after a cleaning. We are the only Middle Georgia dental practice to offer LANAP™. This improves patient comfort. Ask any of our patients how easy it was for them to treat their gum disease. We had the first in-office dental CT machine in Central Georgia. Dr. Bhasin has recently introduced X-Nav. This enables him to have a real time CT guidance when placing dental implants. This is one of the first units in operation in the world! The bottom line is innovation is our middle name—all designed for your safety, comfort, and successful outcome.
Over the past year, the practice has added an “all on four” technique. You’ve seen this technique advertised on TV. It allows patients with advanced dental disease to have multiple dental implants placed and leave with teeth they can use and a new smile all in one day. The technique originated in Portugal and Dr. Bhasin spent a week there learning state of the art advances in a hands-on environment. A year earlier, he took an advanced bone grafting course in Budapest! He leaves no stone unturned to upgrade his talents and your results. If you can’t bite an apple, and would like to, arrange to meet him and see if it’s right for you.
The practice by today’s standards is small. We don’t try to do it all. We focus on first learning your desires and then road mapping (treatment planning) a pathway to
success, starting with a healthier foundation. We bring other dental professionals into the process as required, and are happy to work with your current dentist. We’ve worked hard to establish our reputation based on reliability, compassion, and innovation. We feel that by limiting our scope our skill set improves. Doing, for example, 400–500 dental implants a year increases the likelihood that you will be delighted with your outcome, and love our practice. #
