Whether mom and dad want some alone time with luxe pampering or want to engage in family fun, this all-inclusive resort aims to please with programs that cater to every age group
Club Med is investing $25 million in a transformation for the newly renamed, Club Med Sandpiper Bay, located in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Known as the only all-inclusive family resort in the United States, Sandpiper Bay will become the flagship of Club Med “Premium Sports” resorts. The resort will reopen on Dec. 17, 2010, with endless activities for families to explore.
The 216-acre renovated Sandpiper Bay resort will include an 11,000 sq. ft. wellness center, championship tennis facilities and an 18-hole golf course on-site with additional access to 15 courses nearby. French architect, Francois Champsaur, collaborated with Club Med to design accommodations that offer different room categories including Deluxe Family rooms with two separate bedrooms to ensure enough room for everyone, two new restaurants serving international gourmet cuisine and innovative children’s facilities at the new Kidz Village.
Personalized experiences at the Kidz Village allow children as young as four months to 17 years to discover, participate and grow in programs specially designed for their age group. Activities include junior tennis, golf, sailing, and circus school, Le Petit Chef cooking lessons, and a water splash park. Sandpiper Bay also makes it exceedingly easy when traveling with a baby with their Baby Welcome Program. Highchairs, cribs, strollers, bottle warmers, infant bathtubs, and much more are readily available upon arrival to ensure that both parents and their baby have a seamless vacation experience.
The colorful canine characters, known as Raggs, will join the Sandpiper Bay family with their catchy songs and educational experiences. Raggs will officially move to Sandpiper Bay, where a special clubhouse is being created as part of the new resort. Raggs will entertain the little ones throughout the resort with activities, from energizing “Wag & Wiggle” dance sessions and programs that focus on the five senses to character lunches and interactive live shows.
As the flagship for “Premium Sports” resorts, Sandpiper Bay will offer sporting lessons from top professionals with the Club Med Academies. The Club Med Tennis Academy at Sandpiper Bay will offer a one-of-a-kind learning environment for elite tennis training from world-class coaches such as Gabriel Jaramillio and Scott Del Mastro. The new facility will include six clay courts, 14 hard courts, and one stadium court, a new pro-shop, training facility, and a new 12,000 square foot clubhouse.
The Club Med Golf Academy is home to an 18-hole golf course, a Tom Fazio II designed practice facility, a putting green and driving range, and a clubhouse and pro-shop. Golfers are also provided the personalized service of a golf concierge that facilitates access to 15 private and public world-renowned golf courses within 25 minutes driving distance from the resort such as the PGA Ryder course. The Golf Academy is directed by internationally renowned PGA instructors, Brad Brewer and Don Law. Brad Brewer is the Daily Brew Golf Channel’s lead online instructor, “Top 100 Teacher” by Golf Magazine, and “Teacher of the Year” by North Florida PGA. Award-winning Junior Golf Instructor, Don Law, is the founder and director of one of the largest junior programs in the U.S. and is listed among the Top 50 Instructors for both Golf Range of America and U.S. Kids Golf.
